1901年出生於爵士樂發源地的路易斯阿姆斯壯，10多歲時便開始參與許多樂團的演出工作，而以他為主的Hot Five以及Hot Seven樂團更是爵士樂團的先驅，不但訂下了爵士搖擺樂-SWING的規範、發展出”Scat”的獨特唱法，而Hot Five以及Hot Seven錄音久已被爵士樂史公認為最佳的經典名盤。 從葛萊美得獎專輯「五七成群-完整版-The Complete Hot Five And Hot Seven Recordings」中精挑細選出的三張專輯，第一集偏重在Hot Five樂團1925-1926這一年之間的錄音作品。團員包括Armstrong、Kid Ory、Johnny Dodds、Lil Hardin、Johnny St. Cyr。
